College Education
A junior at Chaminade University of Honolulu, HI Majoring in Political Science and minoring in History. Graduated from American Samoa Community College (1999) -Attained an Associates of Arts degree.

High School Education
Graduated from Kaimuki High School( Honolulu, HI I997) Attended Samoana High School (American Samoa 1994-1996)

Elementary Education
Pago Pago Elementary from fifth to eighth grade. (American Samoa) Kalihi Waena Elementary from third to forth grade. (Honolulu, HI) Jose Ortega Elementary second grade. (San Francisco, CA) Le'atele Elementary first grade. (American Samoa)

VOLUNTEER/COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENTS:

-Service Learning Program: volunteer at the Institution for Human Services (IHS), Feeding the homeless and beach clean-ups.
-Member of the St. Augustine Youth and Choir.

September 24, 1999
Won Miss Samoa~Hawai'i title in Farrington High School Auditorium in Kalihi, Oahu.

October 9, 1999
Attended Miss Hawaiian Islands Pageant 2000 held in Waikiki. The winner for this pageant was Radasha Leialoha Ho'ohuli from Waianae, Oahu. She's a Graduate of Kamehameha High School and is currently working as a dance performer at Paradise Cove, while attending Leeward Community College(University of Hawaii).

October 15, 1999
Invited as a guest at Kuhio Park Terrace, gave a short speech and performed a dance (Siva taualuga).

October 22, 1999
Participated in the Miss South Pacific Pageant in Nuku'alofa, Tonga.

November 19, 1999
Performed opening dance at Chaminade University's annual Pacific Island Review.

November 25, 1999
Served as a volunteer at I.H.S. for Thanksgiving dinner as part of a community service.

November 26, 1999
Participated in the Kalihi Christmas Parade, Sponsored by Governor Cayetano, and the Kalihi business association.

December 4, 1999
Participated in the Waianae Christmas Parade, in place for Councilman Mufi Hannemann

Participated in the Ewa Christmas Parade as part of a community service, in place for Councilman Mufi Hannemann.

February 5, 2000
Attended and helped in presenting the awards to the talented Samoan students in sports in the "Samoa International Sports Award Banquet" held at Polynesian Culture Center.

Invited to Mufi Hannemann Campaign banquet and was asked to perform the siva taualuga.

Invited as a guest to Miss Hawaii(preliminary) Pageant, where one of the three finalist, Angela Baraquio will eventually become the Miss hawaii and later Miss America.

Capitol State Building - Attended the signing of the Proclamation by Governor Cayetano to held a "Fa'a Samoa 2000" Conference.

March 31, 2000
"Fa'a Samoa 2000" Conference at Leeward Community College. Participated in the Ava (Kava) ceremony.Also performed the Siva taualuga.

April 14, 2000
She was invited as a guest to her former Elementary School and participated in the activity celebrations in Pago Pago Elementary. It was here that she gave a speech, and was overwhelmed by the Sua cerimony which she was offered gifts for her present and long journey. She was also protrayed as a role model for the young Samoan girls there.

Was an honored guest in the American Samoa Flag Day held in Pago Pago, American Samoa. Celebrating The 100 years Centennial under the United State Flag.

Was an honored guest at the Governors reception party held in Utulei, American Samoa.

May 14, 2000
Was invited as an honored guest to performed a "Siva Taualuga" as part of the University of Hawaii Samoan Ensemble class, conducted by Instructor Kuki Tuiasosopo. At the end of every semester, each ensemble classes would perform as part of the students final grade. The Activity was called "Pau Hana Day."

Was one of the honored guest in presenting the awards to the winner for the "Fire Knife Dance Competition 2000" held at Polynesian Culture Center.

Was one of honored guest in presenting the awards in the "WE ARE SAMOA 2000" High School dance competition held in BYU Auditorium. She also performed the siva taualuga.

Aug 6-12, 2000
Attended and performed the siva taualuga in the Samoan Flag Day held at Keehi Lagoon Park Honolulu, Hawaii.

Aug 19, 2000
was invited as a guest to Cecilia Tautofi fundraising banquet held at the Waikiki Shell. Meilyn performed the siva taualuga to the electrifying Kapana's who sang their edited version of "Talofa Teine."

Aug 21-26, 2000
Was invited, gave a small speech and performed the siva taualuga at the Samoan Flag Day 2000 held in Carson, California.

September 29, 2000
Attended, gave a small speech and performed for the Kuhio Park Terrace Community Activity sponsored by the Parents And Children Together(PACT).

September 30, 2000
Attended the Miss Hawaii Samoa Scholarship Pageant held at Mckinley High School Auditorium in downtown, Oahu. Meilyn finally gave up her title to the newly crowned Miss Hawaii Samoa 2001 Vaneta Moea'i who is currently attending BYU-Hawaii.
